Method

Ribs Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.

  3. 3

    Roast the Ribs

Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and roast in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  4. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

Remove the foil and brush BBQ sauce generously over the ribs. Return to the oven and cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and cube the potatoes. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain and return potatoes to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots.

  2. 8

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat.

  3. 9

    Chill

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
