Pork Carnitas

Method

Prepare Pork Carnitas

  1. 1

    Cook Pork

In a large slow cooker, combine the pork shoulder, orange juice, lime juice, garlic cloves (minced), cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  2. 2

    Shred Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard any excess fat and bay leaves.

  3. 3

    Crisp Pork

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shredded pork and cook until the edges are crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 4

    Warm Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.

  2. 5

    Fill Tacos

Fill each tortilla with the crispy pork carnitas, followed by a spoonful of 10 Acres Farm habanero salsa, pickled red onions, and fresh cilantro.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious pork carnitas tacos!
