Leberkase and Onions

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the onions into thin rings. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Grill the Onions

Cook the onions for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. 3

    Grill the Leberkase

Preheat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Slice the Leberkase loaf into thick slices (about 1 inch thick).

  4. 4

    Cook the Leberkase

Grill the Leberkase slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are heated through and have nice grill marks.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

Place a slice of grilled Leberkase on a bread roll, top with the grilled onions, and add mustard if desired.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot with extra mustard on the side.
