Leberkase

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Leberkase

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape and Bake

Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and press it down firmly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).

  3. 3

    Make the Gravy

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.

  4. 4

    Serve

Once the Leberkase is done baking, let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve slices of Leberkase with warm brown gravy on top.
