Prepare the Dough

1. Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

2. Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

3. Knead the Dough

Mix until the dough starts to come together. Turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Toppings

While the dough is rising, slice the bell peppers, onions, and olives. Set aside.

6. Prepare Sauce and Cheese

In a separate bowl, measure out the tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Set aside.

Assemble and Bake Pizza

7. Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.

8. Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch it out to your desired thickness.

9. Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the shaped dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel. Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the base, followed by mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and olives on top.

10. Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the oven (or onto the hot pizza stone). Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

11. Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve hot.
