Slice the Beef
Thinly slice the beef against the grain into strips about 1/4 inch thick.

Prepare the Broccoli
Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.

Mix Marinade
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, black pepper, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Stir-Fry the Beef
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil and add the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Add 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
