1. Juicing the Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or by hand until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

2. Making the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

3. Combining Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the simple syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.

4. Serving

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices if desired.
