Cook the Onions and Mushrooms
In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced Maui onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and black pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Ribeye Steak
Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
- 4
Add Chili Pepper Water
During the last minute of cooking the steak, drizzle the chili pepper water over the ribeye. Let it sizzle for added flavor.
- 5
Serve
Remove the ribeye from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve topped with the caramelized onions and mushrooms. Garnish with fresh parsley.
