Ribs

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Meyongdong Style Upgrade (Optional)

Method

Ribs Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Wrap them in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.

Guava Barbecue Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a saucepan, combine guava paste, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened. Set aside.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, minced garlic, and milk. Mash until smooth and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 4

    Glaze and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, unwrap them, and brush with guava barbecue sauce. Grill or broil for an additional 10 minutes to caramelize the sauce. Serve with garlic mashed potatoes.

Optional Meyongdong Style Upgrade

  1. 5

    Add the Upgrade

For the Meyongdong style upgrade, drizzle the ribs with sesame oil, top with chili paste, and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
