Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the blueberries.
- 2
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 3
Cook the Waffles
Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, using enough to cover the waffle grid. Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 4
Prepare the Seasonal Berry Compote
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine mixed seasonal berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries) with a tablespoon of sugar and a splash of water. Cook until the berries soften and the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- 5
Serve
Top the waffles with whipped cream, a dusting of powdered sugar, and the warm berry compote. Serve immediately.
