Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it's hot enough to make the fries crispy.

  2. 2

    Wash and Peel Sweet Potatoes

Thoroughly wash the sweet potatoes under running water. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the skin of the sweet potatoes.

  3. 3

    Cut Sweet Potatoes

Slice the sweet potatoes into thin sticks, about 1/4 inch wide. Try to keep them uniform in size for even cooking.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Toss with Oil and Seasoning

In a large bowl, combine the cut sweet potato sticks with olive oil. Add salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and dried oregano. Toss until all the fries are evenly coated.

  2. 5

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the sweet potato fries out in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other to allow for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Bake the Fries

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.

  4. 7

    Serve

Remove the fries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve immediately, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce.
