Steak Marinade

Optional Sides

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  3. 5

    Slice the Steak

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat until pliable, about 30 seconds on each side.

  2. 7

    Build the Tacos

Lay a tortilla flat, add a generous portion of sliced steak, then top with shredded lettuce, Monterey Jack cheese, Cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and a drizzle of sour cream and creamy lime dressing.

  3. 8

    Serve

Fold the tortilla in half and serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as Mexican rice or refried beans.
