Preparing the Chicken

Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the chicken breasts with teriyaki sauce, salt, and black pepper. Ensure the chicken is fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for best flavor.

Cook the Chicken
Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). During the last minute of cooking, add the ham and cheese slices on top of the chicken to melt.

Prepare the Vegetables
Slice the tomato and red onion. Set aside the leafy Romaine lettuce, sliced jalapeños, and chipotle mayo for assembly.
Assembling the Sandwich

Build the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread a layer of chipotle mayo. Place the grilled chicken breast on top, followed by grilled pineapple, jalapeños, and lettuce, then top with sliced tomato and red onion. Finish with the top half of the bun.
