Method

Preparing the Burger

  1. 1

    Forming the Patties

In a mixing bowl, take the ground beef and form it into two equal-sized patties. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess fat.

  3. 3

    Grilling the Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Adding Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked Gouda cheese on each patty and cover to let the cheese melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Preparing the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layering the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of spicy sweet BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cheese-topped beef patty on top.

  3. 7

    Adding Pulled Pork and Bacon

Top the patty with 1/2 cup of smoked pulled pork and two slices of crispy bacon.

  4. 8

    Finishing Touches

Add lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a slice of red onion. Drizzle a little more BBQ sauce on top, then close the burger with the top half of the bun.
