Method

Preparation of Black Bean Mash

  1. 1

    Cook the Black Beans

In a saucepan, heat the black beans over medium heat until warmed through.

  2. 2

    Mash the Beans

Add minced garlic, cumin, lime juice, and salt to the black beans. Use a fork or potato masher to mash until smooth and well combined. Set aside.

Cooking the Seafood

  1. 3

    Prepare Shrimp and Crawfish

In a skillet over medium heat, add the domestic shrimp and crawfish. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Set aside.

Assembling the Nachos

  1. 4

    Prepare Tortilla Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the corn tortillas in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous layer of black bean mash over the tortillas. Then, evenly distribute the cooked shrimp and crawfish on top.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Pour the white queso cheese over the seafood layer. Top with pico de gallo, sliced jalapeños, and additional toppings like sour cream and sweet chili sauce.

  4. 7

    Bake the Nachos

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve hot with additional sour cream and sweet chili sauce on the side.
