Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with a mixture of paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Ensure the pork is evenly coated.
- 2
Prepare the Slow Cooker
In a large slow cooker, combine apple cider vinegar and water. Place the seasoned pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes. Then, shred the pork using two forks.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 5
Combine Vegetables
In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrot.
- 6
Make the Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 7
Mix Coleslaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss until everything is well coated.
- 8
Chill Coleslaw
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Sandwich Assembly
- 9
Prepare the Buns
Slice the buns in half and toast them if desired.
- 10
Assemble the Sandwich
Layer a generous amount of pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun.
- 11
