Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a large bowl, combine the Angus ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink while cooking.

Blackened Shrimp Preparation

  1. 3

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning and olive oil until evenly coated.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are opaque and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cajun Cream Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet used for the shrimp, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Add Cream and Seasoning

Pour in the heavy cream and add Cajun seasoning. Stir well, allowing the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Burger Assembly

  1. 7

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet or grill, cook the burger patties over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Fontina cheese on each patty to melt.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, top with blackened shrimp, and drizzle with Cajun cream sauce. Add the top bun and serve.
