Method
Preparing the Mozzarella Sticks
- 1
- 2
Bread the Mozzarella Sticks
Take a mozzarella stick, coat it in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs. Ensure the cheese is completely covered. Repeat this process for all mozzarella sticks.
- 3
Chill the Mozzarella Sticks
Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This helps to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly while frying.
Frying the Mozzarella Sticks
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add the frozen mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Preparing the Marinara Sauce
- 6
Sauté the Garlic
In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 7
Cook the Sauce
Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning with black pepper.
Serving the Dish
- 8
Serve the Mozzarella Sticks
Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and serve hot with the marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
