Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top. Add lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and onion. Finally, drizzle ketchup and mustard over the top before closing the burger with the top half of the bun.
