Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix and Shape the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf. Next, add the cooked beef patty with melted cheese. Top with tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finally, place the top half of the bun on the burger.
