Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium, or until they reach your desired doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato and onion into thin rings.

  2. 6

    Toast Buns (optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slices, onion rings, and any condiments like ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
