Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  2. 3

    Simmer the Sauce

Heat the saucepan over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Pour half of the BBQ sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Reserve the other half for later. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.

  2. 5

    Finish the Ribs

After the cooking time is complete, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on the grill. Brush the remaining BBQ sauce over the ribs and grill for about 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally until they develop a nice char.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Cut between the bones to separate the ribs and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
