Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grill the Patties

Preheat your grill (or skillet) over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid (or cover the skillet) until the cheese is melted.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread a generous amount of BBQ sauce. Then, place the cooked patty on top, followed by onion rings, pickles, lettuce, and a slice of tomato.

  3. 7

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
