Preparation of Ingredients
- 1
Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix well and form into 4 equal patties.
- 2
Prepare the Pineapple and Jalapeños
Slice the pineapple and jalapeños as needed. Jalapeños can be sliced into rings or kept whole, depending on your spice preference.
Cooking
- 3
Fry the Pineapple
In a frying pan, heat 1/2 cup of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the pineapple slices and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Fry the Jalapeños
In the same pan, add more vegetable oil if needed and fry the jalapeños until they are crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Burgers
In the same frying pan, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of Pepper Jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns lightly on the frying pan or grill. Start with the bottom bun, add a lettuce leaf, then the cheeseburger patty, followed by a fried pineapple slice, fried jalapeños, and finish with a drizzle of teriyaki glaze. Top with the other half of the bun.
