Waffle Batter
Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 2
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 3
Cook the Waffles
Grease the waffle iron lightly with non-stick spray or a small amount of melted butter. Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1 cup, depending on the size of your iron) and close the lid. Cook according to the waffle iron's instructions, typically for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown.
- 4
Serve
Carefully remove the waffle from the iron and serve hot with whipped butter and your choice of syrup (maple or boysenberry) or fresh boysenberry jam.
