Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and well-combined.

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the cut potatoes to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels.

Fry the Fish
Dredge each fish fillet in the remaining flour, then dip into the batter. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve the hazy fish and chips hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
