Brewing Instructions

  1. 1

    Mashing Process

Heat 3 gallons of water to 165°F (74°C) and add the crushed pale malt and crystal malt. Maintain a temperature of 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sparging

After mashing, sparge with 2 gallons of water at 170°F (77°C) to rinse the grains.

  3. 3

    Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil and add the Cascade hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding Centennial hops with 15 minutes left and Amarillo hops at the end of the boil.

  4. 4

    Cooling

Cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath to around 70°F (21°C).

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter and pitch the yeast. Seal and allow to ferment for 1-2 weeks at 68-72°F (20-22°C).

  6. 6

    Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, transfer the beer to a bottling bucket, add priming sugar, and bottle the beer. Allow to carbonate for 1-2 weeks.
