Main Ingredients

Lemon Butter Sauce

Method

Preparing the Scallops

1

Pat Dry the Scallops

Using paper towels, pat the scallops dry to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve a nice sear.

2

Season the Scallops

Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly over both sides of the scallops.

Cooking the Scallops

3

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

4

Sear the Scallops

Carefully place the scallops in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and opaque in the center.

5

Remove from Heat

Once cooked, remove the scallops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Making the Lemon Butter Sauce

6

Add Butter and Garlic

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

7

Finish the Sauce

Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley. Cook for an additional minute, stirring well.

Serving the Dish

8

Plate the Scallops

Return the scallops to the skillet to coat them in the sauce briefly, then plate them.

9

Drizzle Sauce

Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the scallops and garnish with extra parsley if desired.
