Preparation Steps

1

Muddle the Sugar

In an old-fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add the water. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush the sugar cube until it dissolves completely.

2

Add Bitters

Add two dashes of bitters to the glass with the muddled sugar. Stir gently to combine the bitters with the sugar.

3

Pour the Bourbon

Add 2 ounces of bourbon to the glass with the muddled sugar and bitters mixture. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.

4

Add Ice

Fill the glass with a large ice cube or several smaller ice cubes, allowing the drink to chill without diluting it too quickly.

5

Garnish

Take a slice of orange peel and twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it into the glass. Add a maraschino cherry on top for garnish.

6

Serve

Serve the Old Fashioned with a stirrer or cocktail pick, and enjoy your classic cocktail.
