Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

2

Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mixing Ingredients

3

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

4

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, stir in the vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.

Baking

5

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

6

Bake

Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

Serving

7

Cool and Serve

Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
