Method
Cooking the Pasta
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water.
Cook Pasta
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside.
Cooking the Chicken
Season Chicken
Season the boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Cook Chicken
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest before slicing.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
Add Cream and Garlic
Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently.
Add Cheese and Seasonings
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture, stirring continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens. Add the Italian seasoning and a pinch of nutmeg, mixing well.
Bringing It All Together
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to ensure the pasta is evenly coated.
Serve
Slice the cooked chicken breasts and arrange them on top of the pasta. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
