Flourless Chocolate Cake

Method

Directions

1

Prepare the Cake

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a round 8-inch cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3

Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth. Sift in the cocoa powder and fold it gently into the batter.

4

Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top has set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

5

Cool

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
