Pasta

Method

Pasta Cooking

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic, chopped onion, and both bell peppers. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 3

    Add Sausage and Seasoning

Add the sliced Andouille sausage to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir in the Creole seasoning and cook for another 3 minutes.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Tomatoes and Broth

Add the diced tomatoes and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. 5

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the heavy cream and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning as needed.

  5. 6

    Add Shrimp

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the sauce. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

Combining

  1. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
