Method
Preparing Chicken Tenders
- 1
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken tenderloins to the mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).

Step 2: Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. This will be used for breading the chicken.

Step 3: Bread the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off. Dredge each tenderloin in the flour-cornstarch mixture, ensuring an even coating. Set aside on a plate.

Step 4: Fry the Chicken
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the breaded chicken tenders in batches, cooking for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Step 5: Fry the Waffle Fries
In a separate pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil for frying the fries to 350°F (175°C). Add the frozen waffle fries in batches and fry according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, until they are crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
