Oysters
Method
Preparation
Clean the Oysters
Rinse the oysters under cold running water to remove any dirt and debris. Use a brush to scrub the shells to ensure they are clean.
Shuck the Oysters
Using an oyster knife, carefully insert the knife into the hinge of the oyster shell. Twist the knife to open the shell and slide it along the inside to detach the muscle from the shell. Keep the oyster in the bottom shell.
Prepare the Serving Plate
Arrange the shucked oysters on a serving plate, preferably on a bed of crushed ice to keep them chilled.
Serving
Garnish the Oysters
Squeeze fresh lemon juice over each oyster to enhance the flavor. Add a few drops of hot sauce on top for a spicy kick.
Season to Taste
Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper and sea salt over the oysters. If desired, add a small dollop of horseradish for extra flavor.
Serve Immediately
Serve the oysters immediately while they are fresh and chilled. Enjoy them raw for the best experience!
