Method

Preparing the Fish

  1. 1

    Clean the Fish

Thoroughly clean the fresh fish under cold running water. Remove any scales and internal organs if they haven't been cleaned already.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Fish

Place the cleaned fish in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the fish is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking the Fish

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Grill the Fish

Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Serving the Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Plate

On a serving plate, arrange the grilled fish. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

  2. 7

    Add Vegetable Accompaniments

Add sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce leaves around the fish for a refreshing accompaniment.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your traditional Egyptian fish dish.
