Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add the Maker's Mark whisky, simple syrup, and bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice.

Stir
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and properly mixed.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice.
Garnishing

Add Orange Twist
Take a strip of orange peel and twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it into the glass.

Finish with Cherry
Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top or on the rim of the glass.
