Method

Preparation of Salad Base

  1. 1

    Prepare Greens

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce and baby spinach thoroughly. Tear the romaine into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl. Add the baby spinach.

  2. 2

    Chop Vegetables

Halve the cherry tomatoes and add them to the greens. Peel the cucumber, slice it in half lengthwise, and then slice into half-moons. Add to the salad bowl.

  3. 3

    Slice Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Slice the avocado into thin pieces and arrange on top of the salad.

Cooking Proteins

  1. 4

    Prepare Chicken

If not already cooked, grill or bake the chicken breast until fully cooked, about 20-25 minutes. Let it cool before slicing into strips or cubes. Add to the salad.

  2. 5

    Hard-Boil Eggs

Place eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and cover for 12-14 minutes. Cool under cold water, peel, and slice into quarters. Add to the salad.

  3. 6

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the pan, drain on paper towels, and crumble over the salad.

Adding Cheese & Nuts

  1. 7

    Add Feta and Walnuts

Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese and chopped walnuts over the salad.

Making the Dressing

  1. 8

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl or jar, combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk or shake until well combined.

  2. 9

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving. Toss gently to combine all ingredients.
