Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Penne Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Chicken Preparation
- 2
Grill the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Tomato Cream Sauce
In the same pan used for the chicken, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the crushed tomatoes and let simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 4
Combine Sauce with Pasta
Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and mix well to coat the pasta. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 5
Serve
Slice the grilled chicken and place it on top of the creamy pasta. Garnish with extra Parmesan and basil if desired. Serve hot.
