Method
Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk and egg. Whisk until well combined. Add the chicken tenderloins and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. This will be the breading for the chicken.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 4
Batter the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken tenderloins in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway. Drain on paper towels.
Waffle Fries
- 6
Cook the Fries
Prepare the frozen waffle fries according to the package instructions. Typically, this involves baking in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- 7
Season the Fries
Once the fries are crispy and golden, remove them from the oven and sprinkle with salt to taste.
