Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Press and Cut Tofu

Begin by pressing the firm tofu. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes. After that, cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.

  2. 2

    Prepare Vegetables

While the tofu is being pressed, wash and chop your mixed vegetables into bite-sized pieces. You can use any combination of your favorite vegetables.

  3. 3

    Mince Garlic and Ginger

Mince the garlic and ginger finely, as they will be used to enhance the flavor of the dish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Coat Tofu with Cornstarch

In a bowl, gently toss the cubed tofu with cornstarch until evenly coated. This will help to create a crispy texture when cooked.

  2. 5

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 6

    Cook Tofu

Add the cornstarch-coated tofu cubes to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 7

    Stir-fry Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the mixed vegetables. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  5. 8

    Combine Tofu and Sauce

Return the crispy tofu to the skillet. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil, tossing everything together to coat well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 9

    Serve

Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat and serve hot. This dish can be served over rice or noodles if desired.
