Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

Cook the Pasta
Add 200g of pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package directions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, reserve some pasta water if needed, then drain the pasta in a colander. Set aside.
Marinara Sauce Preparation

Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the oil and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in 800g of crushed canned tomatoes, 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 1 cup of chopped fresh basil before serving.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation

Add Cream and Garlic
Once melted, add 1 cup of heavy cream and 2 minced garlic cloves. Stir and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Incorporate Cheese and Season
Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine
Add the cooked pasta to your desired sauce (Marinara or Alfredo). Toss well to coat.

Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil for Marinara or extra Parmesan for Alfredo.
