Pasta Preparation

Cook the Penne Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 2 cups of penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Grill the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Make the Tomato Cream Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant. Pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and stir to combine. Gradually add 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth. Add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon of basil, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta, sliced grilled chicken, and tomato cream sauce. Toss until everything is well coated. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
