Method
Prepare Fish
- 1
Season the Fish
Pat the white fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Prepare Breading Station
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and paprika.
Bread the Fish
- 3
Coat the Fish
Dredge each seasoned fish fillet in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat in the panko breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
Fry the Fish
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 5
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the breaded fish fillets in the hot oil, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Prepare Tartar Sauce
- 6
Mix Tartar Sauce
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, balsamic vinegar, and fresh dill. Stir until well mixed.
Assemble the Dish
- 7
Plate the Dish
On a serving plate, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a piece of crispy fish, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of balsamic tartar sauce on top.
