Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Mushroom Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced mushrooms, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Sour Cream Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Set aside.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 5

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, sautéed mushrooms, a slice of tomato, and cheese if desired. Top with a generous dollop of sour cream sauce and place the other half of the bun on top.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes.
