Bun and Toppings

Method

Preparing the Bacon

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and let drain on paper towels.

Making the Burgers

  1. 2

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal-sized patties.

  2. 3

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet used for cooking the bacon, increase the heat to medium-high. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns in a toaster or under a broiler until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked burger patty with cheese, 2 strips of bacon, slices of tomato, onion, and pickles if desired. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 6

    Complete the Burger

Top each assembled burger with the other half of the bun.
