Tartare Base

Method

Prepare the Tuna Tartare

  1. 1

    Dice the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, dice the sushi-grade tuna into small cubes, approximately 1/4-inch in size. Place the diced tuna in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Dice the avocado into similar-sized cubes as the tuna and add it to the mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the mixing bowl with the tuna and avocado. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to mash the avocado.

  4. 4

Add Sesame Seeds and Green Onions

Finely chop the green onions and add them along with the sesame seeds to the mixture. Fold gently to incorporate.

Plate and Serve

  1. 5

    Prepare the Plate

Using a ring mold or a small bowl, carefully pack the tuna tartare mixture into a round shape on a chilled plate.

  2. 6

    Garnish

Top the tuna tartare with microgreens or sprouts for a fresh touch. Serve with extra lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tartare.

  3. 7

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh tuna tartare!
