Method

Preparing the Meat Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Break the meat apart with a spatula as it cooks.

  2. 2

    Season the Meat

Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat. Stir in the ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Making Fresh Salsa

  1. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes and red onion finely. Place them in a bowl.

  2. 4

    Mix the Salsa

Add the chopped cilantro and lime juice to the bowl. Season with salt to taste. Mix well and set aside to allow the flavors to combine.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 6

    Fill the Tortillas

Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each tortilla. Top with fresh salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese as desired.

  3. 7

    Serve

Fold the tortillas over the filling and serve immediately while warm.
