Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Preparing the Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 1

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, add the chopped potatoes and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce to medium heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Garlic

In a small pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 3

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic and the remaining butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Cooking the Ribeye Steak

  1. 4

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer.

  3. 6

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip it over. Add the minced garlic and optional fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
