Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Asparagus

Wash the asparagus under cold water. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus by snapping them off or cutting them with a knife.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sear the Salmon

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until cooked through. Remove the salmon and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Asparagus

In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed. Add the asparagus and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 5

    Make the Lemon Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, place a portion of the sautéed asparagus and top it with a salmon fillet. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the salmon and asparagus. Serve immediately.
